All that Jazz!

Soulful Blues Return!

images copyThe weather is cooler and the music’s even hotter! The sounds of the Blues will return to Amelia Island on Friday and Saturday, September 12th & 13th, with the 4th annual Amelia Island Blues Festival. Located on the Main Beach in Fernandina Beach, the 2014 Amelia Island Blues Festival takes place just blocks from the Blue Heron Inn.  The festival will feature a melting pot of Chicago Blues, Mississippi Delta Blues and Blues / Rock artists. Legend greats include: Roger “Hurricane” Wilson, Matthew Curry, The Mojo Roots, Curtis Salgado, John Primer, Samantha Fish, Bernard Allison and Ben Prestage.  Bring your chairs to enjoy the sounds!  This event is for all ages. BBQ at the Beach

August 22nd and 23rd Amelia Island hosts the Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off at Main Beach!   Visitors and residents can enjoy free entertainment and barbeque samplings from some of the top competitors in the country. The Cook-off will feature more than 30 professional teams and backyard amateur teams. Some of the areas greatest bands will be here including Dirt Floor Krackers, Swingin’ Medallions, Rockit Fly, Beech Street Blues Band and Bama Gamblers.  Gates open at 3:00 pm Friday.
